Week 7
Syndicate Assembly on Friday presented by room 1a. The presenters were Melissa, Levi and Sarina. Lisa managed the PowerPoint. A play called A Work of Art was performed. The characters were Kevin, Madison, Misha, Chace, Kayla and William. The rest of the children read Going Green tips to the audience.
Congratulations to Chace and Lisa for a splendid job at the Year 3/Year 4 speech finals on Tuesday. Room 1a is so proud of you. Well done!!!
On Monday, during our mandarin lesson we painted blow ink plum blossoms with Miss Wu.
We also visited the Tread Lightly caravan to learn about the effect our actions and choices have on our environment. We learnt to make small changes to help save resources. Each child has made a pledge to make a change.
Week 6 This was a very busy week. We had our year 3 speech finals, Obstacle Fun Run and a Junior assembly presented by year 3.
Congratulations to Lisa Shi, Kevin Edwards, William Wu, Chace Wang and Levi Reid who competed in the semi-finals.
A big congratulations to Lisa Shi and Chace Wang for being selected to present their speeches at the Year 3/4 finals. Good luck to you both!!!

Week 5 On Tuesday, the year threes went on a trip to Kelly Tarltons to learn more about Antarctica.
Week 4
Week 3 Weeewooooo!!!! Weeewooooo!!!! Weeewooooo!!!! On Wednesday we had a lesson with Nicoli from St John. First she taught us about the three different emergency services: police, ambulance and fire.
We practised calling 111 ( which is our emergency number) and giving the call taker some important information. We had to tell the call taker our full address, our phone number and exactly what happened. We had to speak slowly and clearly so that the call taker would understand us.
After that we learned how to stop the bleeding from a hand that has been cut open. We had to plug it, squeeze it, lift it and bandage it. Everyone had a turn to be a patient or the helper or first aider. We found this really hard to do because the bandage kept falling!
Room 1a had an amazing time with Nicoli learning and practising about emergency services. Do you know that men and children are far better at making emergency calls than women? Women freak out, panic, may faint, cry or speak too fast in an emergency. Shared writing by room 1A

Week 2 On Friday we conducted an iceberg experiment. We wanted to find out how an iceberg melts.We also wanted to find out if ice melts faster in tap water or salty water.

This week we had a free inflatable soccer lesson. We learned a game called Sharks and Surfers. We also got to play a game of soccer in teams. Look at us having fun.
